1. Overview
Koshur Studio is a creative and social media experience focused on Kashmiri poetry, culture, images, and video. We aim to collect only the information needed to provide sign-in, profile, media, and security features. We do not sell personal information.
2. Information we handle
- Account information. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive your provider account identifier, display name, email address, and profile picture when the provider makes those details available. Apple does not normally provide a profile picture.
- Profile information you choose to enter. This can include your name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and an optional profile picture selected from your device.
- Authentication and security information. Firebase Authentication may process IP addresses, user-agent information, authentication tokens, and related technical data to authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent abuse.
- Media interactions. When you load or play embedded YouTube videos or externally hosted images, the content provider may receive standard request information such as your IP address, device or browser details, referrer information, and your interactions with that content.
The current version does not include an advertising SDK. It uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect app and page usage data, such as screens viewed, device or browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction events. We use this information to understand usage and improve Koshur Studio.
3. How information is used
We may use information to:
- authenticate you and maintain your account;
- prefill and display your profile;
- show images, poetry, and video content;
- protect the app, users, and authentication systems from misuse;
- diagnose technical issues and maintain app functionality; and
- measure app and website usage and improve our services;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
5. Photos and device access
Koshur Studio accesses the photo picker only after you choose to add or replace a profile picture. The selected image is used for your profile preview. The app does not scan your full photo library. You can decline the picker or replace the selected image later.
6. Storage, retention, and deletion
Firebase Authentication retains the account information needed to provide authentication until the account is deleted or as otherwise required by Firebase's terms and applicable law. In the current app version, additional profile fields and a manually selected profile picture are maintained in the app's active local state and are not uploaded to a Koshur Studio profile database.
To request deletion of your authentication account and associated personal information, visit our account deletion request page. We may need to verify that you control the account before completing a deletion request.
7. Security
We use reputable authentication providers and encrypted network connections where supported. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep access to your Google or Apple account and device protected.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- request access to or correction of your personal information;
- request deletion of your account or personal information;
- object to or restrict certain processing; and
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also control information shared by Google or Apple through your provider account settings. Provider settings do not automatically delete your Firebase authentication record, so contact Koshur Studio separately for an app-account deletion request.
9. Children's privacy
Koshur Studio is not intended for children who are below the minimum age required to consent to online services in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information without valid parental or guardian authorization, contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted where required.
10. International processing
Firebase, Google, Apple, YouTube, and other content providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards they use for international data processing and transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, its providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published.
